Pastificio Felicetti, a long time supporter of professional athletes from all kinds of sports, was a partner together with Monograno Felicetti in the first edition of the Festival of Sport. Organised by Gazzetta dello Sport and Trentino Marketing, the event brought the entire city of Trento to life with a "Record" programme (this year's chosen theme) between 11 and 14 October.
Our Monograno Felicetti Lounge, an invitation-only restaurant, was set up in the wonderful setting of Palazzo Roccabruna and welcomed around 700 guests for lunch and dinner over the four days.
Chef Alessandro Gilmozzi (El Molin- Cavalese, TN) delighted the taste buds of diners with locally-inspired dishes that changed every day: Matt spaghettoni with smoked butter and freshwater sardines - "Il Cappelli" pennoni, marinated lavaret, candied birch leaf and herring caviar – "Il Cappelli" mezze maniche, baccala, saffron and Lamon beans – "Il Cappelli" il Valentino with mountain carbonara – Khorasan Kamut® tagliatelle with sausage, braised savoy cabbage, mushrooms and Trentin Grana cheese – Khorasan Kamut® rigatoni with celery pesto, trout eggs and extra-mature Asiago cheese – "Il Cappelli" fusillotti with home-grown tomatoes and slices of Rendena roast beef – Khorasan Kamut® linguine, white lavaret and black garlic.
Saturday 13 October was the most intense day, also in terms of excitement.
At lunch we welcomed the entire national winter sports team including medal winners from the last Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang Sofia Goggia, Michela Moioli, Federico Pellegrino, Dominik Windisch, Federica Brignone, Lisa Vittozzi, Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer. The excitement reached a climax here when Nordic combined champion Alessandro Pittin presented the Olympic bib to Riccardo Felicetti
In the afternoon, Riccardo Felicetti was one of the speakers at the "Eat well to win better" conference at Palazzo Geremia. For years Pastificio has promoted healthy eating and balanced diets with particular focus on carbohydrates and, of course, Monograno Felicetti pasta: wholesome, simple and light but also extremely tasty. That is why it is appreciated by those that are always on the move. "There are no recipes or magic foods for going faster, but it is important that every diet is personalised as much as possible", was the unanimous conclusion of speakers Luca Gatteschi, sports physician, athlete Elena Vallortigara and professor Andrea Segrè, as well as Riccardo Felicetti.
The day finished with a little show by Gianfelice Facchetti (son of legendary footballer Giacinto) and the Ottavo Richter Trio who, after performing "Eravamo quasi in cielo", went into the Monograno Felicetti Lounge to entertain the guests there.
Sunday 14 October was just as memorable with a private lunch for Carlo Ancelotti, Arrigo Sacchi and Josep 'Pep' Guardiola, who particularly appreciated the unique flavour of Monograno Felicetti.
Finally, lots of personalities from the world of sport dropped by to say hello: editor of Gazzetta dello Sport Andrea Monti, chairman of RCS and Torino FC Urbano Cairo, journalist Riccardo Cucchi, the one and only Dan Peterson, Formula 1 engineer Ross Brawn, former referee Pierluigi Collina, volleyball player Francesca Piccinini, fencer Elisa Di Francisca, sailor Giovanni Soldini, downhill skiers Simone Moro and Tamara Lunger and lots of former champions like Kristian Ghedina, Roberto Volpi, Francesca Schiavone, Igor Cassina, Jean Alesi and Mike Maric.
